The 51ΑΤΖζ womenβs basketball team has made the WNIT postseason tournament. The Panthers will face Drake University in the first round on Friday, March 19, at 8 p.m. at the UW Health Sports Factory in Rockford, Illinois. The game will be streamed online at
51ΑΤΖζ earned the postseason berth after winning the Horizon League regular-season title and advancing to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
βItβs such a special season, given what the seniors have put into it,β 51ΑΤΖζ coach Kyle Rechlicz said. βWe have five senior leaders ready to commit to this and Iβm really looking forward to the opportunity.β
51ΑΤΖζ enters the WNIT with a 19-7 record and is playing in its first postseason tournament since 2016. Drake, which has a 16-11 record, was runner-up in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. It will be a rematch of a 2017 Preseason WNIT tournament game that Drake won 77-73. 51ΑΤΖζ is seeking its first win against Drake in nine attempts.
