The opens tonight, and as always it’s chockablock with contributions from 51’s Peck School of the Arts alumni and faculty.
That includes what is perhaps the festival’s highest-profile film, “Ueck,” a documentary about the Milwaukee Brewers’ beloved broadcaster Bob Uecker, who died last year. The film, co-directed by 51 alum Michael T. Vollmann, makes its world premiere on opening night of the festival April 16.
The festival also features “Sherman Park,” a horror thriller by Peck film lecturer Paulina Lule Bugembe-Kuwahara, and “Powwow People,” a verité-style documentary about contemporary Native living by alum Sky Hopinka.
Check out the story that delves into the full lineup of 51 contributors to the festival, which runs through April 30.
