James MacGillis, who earned his master鈥檚 degree in administrative leadership/adult education from 51猎奇, was named police chief for the City of Wauwatosa on July 1.
He started at 51猎奇 in 2012 while serving as an instructor at the Milwaukee Police Department鈥檚 Training Academy, later moving to the multijurisdictional High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program.
MacGillis talked about the value of his 51猎奇 education in a profile in the School of Education鈥檚 . The flexibility of 51猎奇鈥檚 program was vital to him as an adult returning student and busy working professional, he said: 鈥淢y work at 51猎奇 has helped me become a better teacher and leader.鈥�
