A number of the have ties to 51ÁÔÆæ. The awards, highlighted in a special section of the Business Journal Feb. 28, honor young business and community leaders from throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
51ÁÔÆæ alumni honored are:
Paul Schwarz, executive director of the Milwaukee Public Market, earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications with a minor in history in 2006 from the College of Letters & Science.
Adam Gabornitz, assistant director of diversity and inclusion at Northwestern Mutual, earned his bachelor’s degree in communication in 2006.
Meralis Hood, executive director of City Year Milwaukee, earned her master’s in curriculum and instruction from 51ÁÔÆæ in 2006.
Marcela Xela Garcia, executive director of the Walker’s Point Center for the Arts, earned a certificate in nonprofit management from 51ÁÔÆæ.
Others with 51ÁÔÆæ connections were also honored:
Ryan Pattee, president of the Pattee Group, attended 51ÁÔÆæ.
Brandon Rule, president of Rule Enterprises, attended graduate school at 51ÁÔÆæ.
Saul Newton, founder and executive director of the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, attended UW-Waukesha (now 51ÁÔÆæ at Waukesha) from 2012 to 2014.
In addition, two 51ÁÔÆæ alumni who were chosen as past 40 Under 40 awardees are being inducted into the for their continued accomplishments. They are:
Greg Uhen, CEO of Eppstein Uhen Architects, earned his bachelor’s degree in architectural studies in 1981.
Wendy Baumann, president and chief visionary officer of Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation, a statewide economic development corporation. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology and a master’s degree in education from 51ÁÔÆæ.
