Brenden Nihart has been an integral part of the School of Freshwater Sciences community since Fall 2022. As a program assistant in Sandra McLellan's lab, he supported vital research using sewage as a surveillance tool for the COVID-19 pandemic. Nicholas Birschbach, a computer engineering student, will be starting the Edison Engineering Development program at GE Healthcare. The program is a two-year rotational program where engineers get experience on three teams working on CT, MRI and other medical technologies. Birschbach also will be taking classes at GE Healthcare in the first year, receiving master's credits for it.
