A record-breaking 2,028 donors joined together on April 14 and 15 to make the fifth annual 414 for 51ΑΤΖζ Giving Days a resounding success. The collective efforts of these 51ΑΤΖζ alumni, employees, students, parents and friends raised a total of $1,355,783.
β414 for 51ΑΤΖζ Giving Days was an incredible demonstration of what happens when the 51ΑΤΖζ community comes together,β said Amy Lensing Tate, assistant vice chancellor for engagement and executive director of the 51ΑΤΖζ Alumni Association. βThe outpouring of support sends a powerful message about the value of 51ΑΤΖζ and directly creates opportunities for our students and programs to thrive.β
More than 30 donors sponsored challenges that unlocked more than $180,000 in matching funds once specific giving goals were met. Also, more than 80 Giving Days Advocates spread the word to friends and colleagues through social media and other channels.
This yearβs 414 for 51ΑΤΖζ Giving Days also saw the debut of the , which featured students answering trivia questions on rides across campus to unlock funds in support of the area of their choice.
The remarkable generosity and spirit will benefit programs and funding throughout 51ΑΤΖζ. Money raised will go toward dozens of funds to bolster student success, research excellence and community partnerships.
That includes the Panther Pathways Scholarship, which provides unrestricted scholarship funds to undergraduate students based on merit or need. During Giving Days, 194 donors gave nearly $40,000 to support the fund and the students who benefit from it.
Donors also supported causes like the Manfred Olson Planetarium, the 51ΑΤΖζ Food Pantry, Panther Athletics, and scholarships and programs throughout 51ΑΤΖζβs schools and colleges.
