Clinical Education
Fieldwork is a core part of the MSOT curriculum at 51ÁÔÆæ, giving students meaningful, hands-on learning in clinical and community settings. Students complete two supervised Level I fieldwork placements, which help them apply classroom knowledge in a variety of settings. They also complete two 12-week Level II fieldwork experiences that are designed to develop competent, entry-level generalist practitioners. These placements offer in-depth training in delivering evidence-based occupational therapy services.
With over 400 affiliated sites locally, across Wisconsin, nationwide, and internationally, students have access to different placement opportunities aligned with their career interests and geographic preferences. Our urban location and strong community partnerships further enrich these opportunities.
Additional Requirements for Field Placement
If you have been asked to have a criminal background check done in preparation for placement in fieldwork, you will get instructions and an access code for completing the background check once admitted to the program. Please note that a felony conviction may impact your eligibility to sit for the NBCOT certification exam or obtain state licensure.
