Two groups from the 51ÁÔÆæ community were honored before Milwaukee Brewers games over the weekend at American Family Field.
On Sunday, faculty, staff and students from 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s College of Nursing were recognized for their contributions to the fight against COVID-19 during the pandemic. From crucial research to medical service, 51ÁÔÆæ has taken a lead role in the battle in southeastern Wisconsin.

A vaccination clinic at the 51ÁÔÆæ Student Union, established in partnership with Advocate Aurora Health and the Milwaukee Health Department, has administered more than 16,000 vaccination doses to students, faculty, staff and community members. More than 200 of 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s nursing students have worked at the clinic, which at times administered 600 doses a day.
Representing the College of Nursing at the game were Dean Kim Litwack and nursing students Annie Bustos (a resident of South Milwaukee and graduate of South Milwaukee High School), Hali Khoury (Oak Creek/Oak Creek HS), Aaron Llanas (South Milwaukee/South Milwaukee HS) and Kendra Petrowski (Brookfield/Brookfield Central HS).

On Friday, the more than 1,400 veterans and active military members enrolled at 51ÁÔÆæ were recognized. 51ÁÔÆæ enrolls more military veterans than any university in the Midwest, supporting them through the university’s Military and Veterans Resource Center.
Representing 51ÁÔÆæ veterans and active military at the baseball game were Marine veteran Colt Hamilton, enrolled in 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s School of Information Studies (Hayward/Hayward HS); active Air National Guard member Erica Herrera, who is enrolled in 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s Executive MBA program and who received a bachelor’s degree from the Lubar School of Business; Navy veteran Eric Skadson, who is working on a master’s degree in art; and Marine veteran Trevor McMichael, who is working on a master’s degree in physical therapy. Also honored but unable to attend the game was Army veteran Kaleb Cravillion, who is enrolled in 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s School of Information Studies.
