A half-day program on Friday, Oct. 3, will focus on 51ΑΤΖζβs progress toward Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) status. The program will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the 51ΑΤΖζ Lubar Entrepreneurship Center.
The program will feature a keynote address by Jacki Black on Latine student perceptions, faculty and staff strategies, and the “servingness framework.” In addition, 51ΑΤΖζ faculty member Gaby Nagy will present research on βStudent and Staff Stories of Identity, Impact, and Institutional Change: The Role of the Roberto HernΓ‘ndez Center at an Emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution.β
A hands-on session will give participants practical tools and actionable ideas to better support 51ΑΤΖζβs growing Latine student population and all students across campus.
The morning’s agenda includes:
