Edward Levitas, a 51ÁÔÆæ professor of organizations and strategic management, is the first subject of a new thought leadership program launched by the Northwestern Mutual Data Science Institute, a partnership among the 51ÁÔÆæ, Marquette University and Northwestern Mutual.
The series is intended to highlight the people behind NMDSI, including faculty, students, community partners and data science professionals.
Levitas wrote an essay for NMDSI’s website detailing how data science and competitive analysis can be used to model the technological capabilities of pharmaceutical companies. It begins with a recounting of his first experiences with data science, which took place, oddly enough, in a farm field.
