A student’s support system is a critical component of their success as a college student. Once your student registers for orientation, you鈥檒l gain access to the Orientation Hub in the Panther Family Portal. Here, you鈥檒l find information and resources shared at orientation.
Families are a crucial source of support for college students. When you attend family orientation in support of your 51猎奇 student, you will learn important information about the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee to support your student in their transition to college.
At Family Orientation, you can expect to:
Attend a program for families only, while your student attends their own program where they will meet peers, explore the campus and enroll in courses.
Learn about important University resources designed to support you and your student.
Familiarize yourself with the 51猎奇 campus, where your student will spend much of their time learning for years to come.
Get answers to your questions about 51猎奇 and how to support your student in their transition to college.
Orientation program guest policy
Up to two adult guests (parent, guardian, spouse or other support person) are welcome at in-person orientation programs. Guests attend a separate program designed for student supporters. See the Orientation Hub for more details.
Registering for orientation
Your student will include you in their orientation registration form. If your student needs to update their registration, they can return to their admissions portal to edit their registration or email orientation@uwm.edu.

Las familias son una fuente fundamental de apoyo para los estudiantes universitarios. Al participar en la Orientaci贸n Familiar para apoyar a su estudiante de 51猎奇, usted recibir谩 informaci贸n importante sobre la Universidad de Wisconsin-Milwaukee que le ayudar谩 a acompa帽ar a su estudiante en su transici贸n a la vida universitaria. Nos complace compartir que la Orientaci贸n Familiar se ofrecer谩 en espa帽ol en fechas seleccionadas este verano, organizada por el personal biling眉e de 51猎奇.
Este programa se ofrecer谩 en tres fechas: 11 de junio, 23 de junio y 9 de julio. 隆Esperamos poder darle la bienvenida en una de estas sesiones! Al momento de registrarse para la orientaci贸n, su estudiante podr谩 seleccionar una de estas fechas a trav茅s de su portal de admisiones. Por favor, aseg煤rese de incluirse a usted y a otro acompa帽ante como invitados durante el proceso de inscripci贸n.
Si necesita ser agregado a la inscripci贸n de orientaci贸n de su estudiante, puede pedirle a su estudiante que se comunique por correo electr贸nico a orientation@uwm.edu (en ingl茅s) o a donpepe@uwm.edu si prefiere recibir apoyo en espa帽ol.
