“The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is committed to being a good steward of our water. We do this by continuously reducing our own footprint while utilizing research and community engagement efforts to address larger water challenges. We identify what is working, what we could improve and how the local context can inform solutions. Through research and education, we aim to improve water stewardship on our campus, in our community and in the world beyond.”
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has committed to WAVE: Water Stewardship Verified, a program of The Water Council that helps organizations improve their water stewardship practices.
“As a top-tier research university with the nation’s only school dedicated to freshwater sciences, 51 strategically addresses water challenges and opportunities,” 51 Chancellor Mark Mone said. “Being an early adopter of WAVE is critical. We look forward to continued collaboration with The Water Council and are committed to expanding our role as a global leader in water stewardship.”
