51 CSD 460: Survey of Adult Neurogenic Communication Disorders
Directions:
Part 1: Sign up and lead one class discussion related to service-learning (see “Out-of-class assignment 3: Class Discussion Sign Up” on Canvas)
Directions & Parameters:
- Create your own groups, no more than three students leading a single discussion.
- Select a date and type your selected topic and your names in the box.
- Topic ideas can be found on the next page
- Each group should prepare at least two questions related to your selected topic.
- The questions should engage everyone in class
- The discussion should take approximately 15 minutes
Part 2: Record (audio or video) a self-reflection of your service-learning experience. Recordings should be at least three minutes and no longer than five minutes
Your recording should contain the following elements:
- Identify a specific interaction where you encountered difficulties.
- Explain the scenario.
- Identify the problem.
- How did the scenario resolve?
- Identify a specific interaction where you achieved success.
- Explain the scenario.
- What did the success look like?
- What do you think contributed to the scenario being successful?
- What was the single most significant take away from the service-learning experience?
Part 3: After posting your recording to the discussion board, find ONE other recording. Answer the following prompts for each recording
- Why did you select this recording to comment on?
- How does the original post compare to your own take away?

- Part 1
