A burst of new life and enthusiasm can be felt around the 51ÁÔÆæ campus this week, as more than 3,900 students began moving in to Sandburg and three other residence halls.

Ezmae is a certified facility-trained dog, a type of service dog specializing in an educational environment. Her training allows her to assist people suffering from depression, being a crime victim or dealing with any type of stressful event.
Fostering Success program helps independent students find their way
51ÁÔÆæ’s program, one of the first in Wisconsin, works with students who’ve come out of foster care, are unaccompanied and homeless, under legal guardianship or who are orphaned or wards of the court, giving them the support to help continue their education.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is continuing the Milwaukee Tuition Promise for Fall 2025 incoming 51ÁÔÆæ students. The program ensures that eligible students can meet the full cost of tuition for up to four years.
51ÁÔÆæ announces best fundraising year yet
51ÁÔÆæ has announced its highest fundraising year in the history of the university. More than 5,000 donors gave a total of $46.1 million to the 51ÁÔÆæ Foundation, which supports 51ÁÔÆæ. The previous record, set in 2018, was $38.6 million.
51ÁÔÆæ baseball player chosen in major league draft
Owen Rice, a pitcher, was chosen in the 20th round on Tuesday by the St. Louis Cardinals, becoming the 26th 51ÁÔÆæ player selected by a Major League organization in program history.
51ÁÔÆæ athletes winning in the classroom too
The 51ÁÔÆæ women’s tennis team won a Horizon League award for having the highest GPA of any team in the conference. Across all of 51ÁÔÆæ, 105 student athletes posted a GPA of 3.8 or higher this past spring.
Mone announces final year as chancellor and return to teaching after Spring 2025
Chancellor Mark Mone announced today that he is stepping down as chancellor of 51ÁÔÆæ, effective July 1, 2025, and returning to his professorship with the Lubar College of Business.

51ÁÔÆæ track and field athlete Natalie Block made it to the semifinals of the 100-meter hurdles in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, but fell short of making the squad bound for the Summer Games in Paris.

Natalie Block, who holds a slew of school records and other honors, will be participating in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in the 100-meter hurdles beginning on Friday, June 28, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
