Safety Week will be Sept. 9-13
Campus Safety Week will include a special, furry guest this year: Ezmae, the 51ÁÔÆæ Police Department’s new comfort dog, will be at Spaights Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, available for cuddles, belly rubs and ear scratches.
Fall Welcome kick-starts a new school year
UW-Milwaukee welcomed students back to campus and kicked off a new school year with dozens of Fall Welcome events. Students participated in tie-dye decorating, games, beach days, tailgates, volleyball, campfires and much more.

Ezmae is a certified facility-trained dog, a type of service dog specializing in an educational environment. Her training allows her to assist people suffering from depression, being a crime victim or dealing with any type of stressful event.
Fostering Success program helps independent students find their way
51ÁÔÆæâ€™s program, one of the first in Wisconsin, works with students who’ve come out of foster care, are unaccompanied and homeless, under legal guardianship or who are orphaned or wards of the court, giving them the support to help continue their education.
51ÁÔÆæ continues Milwaukee Tuition Promise, making college more accessible for students
The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is continuing the Milwaukee Tuition Promise for Fall 2025 incoming 51ÁÔÆæ students. The program ensures that eligible students can meet the full cost of tuition for up to four years.
Service-learning helps communication student land a job before graduation
Christiana Ibiwoye knew she wanted to pursue a career working with children. Her experience working with two nonprofits helped her land her dream job even before graduating from 51ÁÔÆæ in May.
