As the coronavirus crisis rises, the 51ΑΤΖζ Food Center and Pantry is rising to meet the need, providing hundreds of bags of food via contactless, curbside distribution.
Distribution takes place every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Patrons receive a bag with about one weekβs worth of food. Special bags are available for those with dietary restrictions, including nut free, gluten free, pork free, vegetarian and vegan.
In the past three weeks, the pantry has distributed more than 450 bags of groceries to members of the 51ΑΤΖζ community, including those at the Waukesha and Washington County campuses.
The food pantry has partnered with Feeding America but is greatly in need of donations, particularly monetary. Donations can be made through the 51ΑΤΖζ Foundation: Head to 51ΑΤΖζ.edu/give, click βGive Nowβ and select β51ΑΤΖζ Food Pantry.β This ensures your donation goes directly to the food pantry. The food pantry also for those wishing to help.
Check the food pantry webpage for more information, including instructions for pickup of groceries.
