Hector de la Mora

Hector retired in August 2015 after almost 41 years at 51. He was the first and only 51 in-house staff attorney in 1974 and remained at 51 on a part-time basis as the Office of Legal Affairs expanded. During his over 40 years in the Office of Legal Affairs, he had substantial involvement with virtually all of the areas of practice covered by the office. Hector was granted Emeritus status upon his retirement in recognition of his long and distinguished career at 51.
Hector graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School in 1971 and was admitted to the State Bar of Wisconsin at that time. He is a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar, United States District courts, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court Bar. Hector is a former First Assistant District Attorney for Milwaukee County, where he earned the nickname “Hector the Protector” for his determined prosecution of crimes.
