Biographical Sketch

Aimee Orndorf serves as the Assistant Director of the Center for Latin American & Caribbean Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. There, she coordinates funding opportunities for 51ÁÔÆæ faculty, students, and regional faculty ; serves as Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship Coordinator; assists in grant writing and reporting; and oversees daily business operations of the center, including budgets.  Aimee also manages the Center’s Title VI National Resource Center Grant, from the U.S. Department of Education, and has helped secure more than $1.2 million in grants for the Center. Aimee also provides support for the Center’s academic programs, and organizes career panels with local and national colleagues.

Since 2023, she has been the Program Co-Leader for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s summer and winter study abroad programs to Ecuador. In addition to her work at UW-Milwaukee, she serves as the Communication and Membership Chair for the North Central Council of Latin Americanists, and is a member of the Consortium of Latin American Studies Programs Language committee.  

She graduated with her Bachelors of Arts in Spanish and Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. Latinx Studies; a minor in International Studies; and certificates in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Cultures and Communities, and Latin American & Caribbean Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (2017).
