The National Data Clearinghouse for Bridge and Tunnel Strikes (BrTS) stores reportable motor vehicle crashes involving highway bridges, railroad bridges and tunnels as well as structure data from National Bridge Inventory (NBI) and National Tunnel Inventory (NTI). State-specific data can be retrieved by both spatial and non-spatial queries. To learn more about the data clearinghouse, please follow the User Guide. To request data, submit your data request.

The prototype of National Data Clearinghouse for Bridge and Tunnel Strikes (BrTS) is developed under NCHRP 08-139 Guide for Preventing and Mitigating the Risk of Bridge and Tunnel Strikes by Motor Vehicles. Under this project, crash data from multiple states were collected and linked to the National Bridge Inventory (NBI) and National Tunnel Inventory (NTI) data based on available longitude and latitude information.
