The International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS) commission on geoheritage has named the 51猎奇 Thomas A. Greene collection one of the 11 most important geological collections in the world.
This designation is given to museum collections that have 鈥渉igh scientific, historical and/or educational relevance for geological sciences鈥� that are worthy of preservation and provide original source research. The designation was bestowed based on the recommendations of more than 700 experts from 80 nations.
The Greene collection is the only one in the United States with this gold standard mark of excellence at this time.
