    pax duo is a dynamic percussion project created by Tristan Swihart and Micah Detweiler. Based in Goshen, IN and Madison, WI. pax duo aims to break preconceptions of contemporary percussion through collaboration and creation of new genre bending works. Their repertoire moves percussion music beyond the concert hall, incorporating lighting and electronics, and blending genres like indie, hip-hop, and funk into a contemporary classical context.

    For twelve consecutive summers, while teaching at UW-Milwaukee, Allison B. Cooke served as Director and Professor for the Study Abroad program at the Santa Reparata International School of Art (SRISA) in Florence, Italy. There she inspired countless students through on-location drawing and painting classes across the stunning city and developed an intensive four-week summer course in Renaissance painting techniques.

    The 51ÁÔÆæ Percussion Ensemble presents its annual Fall concert, featuring a wide variety of instruments, sounds, and compositions from different periods. The program will feature Alyssa Weinberg's colorful "Ember II" along with other chamber works: Rich O'Meara's "Puzzle Piece," Juri Seo's "VV," and "The Song of Queztecoatl" by Lou Harrison. Other works showcasing larger ensembles include Blake Tyson's "A Ceiling Full of Stars," Bob Becker's "Atenteben," and "Fanfare for Tambourines" by John Alfieri.

    This special edition of From the Archives is curated by series founder, esteemed Faculty Emeritus, Carl Bogner, and features a rare 16mm print of Warren Sonbert’s Carriage Trade. In Carriage Trade, Sonbert interweaves footage taken from his journeys throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, and the United States, together with shots he removed from the camera originals of a number of his earlier films.

    Nicholas Perry is a painter based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received a BFA from UW-Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts in 2018. Nicholas makes figurative paintings that draw on art-historical influences, personal photography, and other visual languages. Perry is a recipient of the 2024 Mary L. Nohl Fund Fellowships for Individual Artists.
