Join us for a concert featuring the young violinists and violists of the 51ÁÔÆæ String Academy. From our newest beginners to our most advanced students, performers range in age from 4 to 18 and come from neighborhoods across greater Milwaukee. Their energy, focus, and creativity remind us how deeply children can inspire. Whether you're a friend, family member, or first-time guest, all are welcome.
The High School Honors Band & String Orchestra provides the region’s most motivated and accomplished high school instrumentalists an opportunity to work with each other and with regionally and nationally recognized conductors. In addition, students interact with 51ÁÔÆæ performance staff and experience performances by 51ÁÔÆæ ensembles.
The 51ÁÔÆæ Middle School Honors Band Festival is one of the longest standing events of its kind. Our festival provides the region’s most motivated and accomplished middle school instrumentalists an opportunity to work with each other and with regionally and nationally recognized wind band conductors. In addition, students interact with 51ÁÔÆæ performance staff and experience performances by 51ÁÔÆæ ensembles.
The 51ÁÔÆæ Wind Ensemble will share a concert with 51ÁÔÆæ's High School Honors Band & String Orchestra Festival ensembles. This Saturday evening concert is a culmination of a weekend of rehearsals, lessons and experiences meant to show festival students what it's like to be a musician at UW-Milwaukee.
Jean Carlo is a versatile performer, composer and educator that connects western and nonwestern tradition into concert settings. He has performed with the National Symphony Orchestra of Santo Domingo, Jackson Symphony, Toledo Symphony and Adrian Symphony. He has performed on multiple occasions in New Music Detroit’s, Strange Beautiful Music (SBM) annual concert series. He is the founder and co-director of the first Dominican percussion ensemble that combines western and Caribbean musical traditions, ATEZA’O. Ureña González, joins the faculty of the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music as a Assistant Professor of Percussion in the Fall of 2023.

Join the 51ÁÔÆæ Symphony Orchestra for a vibrant and seasonally inspired program celebrating the spirit of December. The evening opens with the Baroque energy of J.S. Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, followed by Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins, featuring a group of outstanding young violinists from the 51ÁÔÆæ String Academy.
This exciting night of music will feature music from Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago performed by 51ÁÔÆæ students and Milwaukee community members. The 51ÁÔÆæ Steel PANthers Steel Band and the Community World Music Ensemble will join forces on a program highlighting traditional and arranged music played on Guatemalan marimba doble and Trinidadian steel pans.
Join 51ÁÔÆæ's Concert Chorale, Bella Voce, Kameraden, Alta Voce, and Kameraden Plus choral ensembles for an evening of choral music featuring selections from a wide variety of styles and time periods.

Students enrolled in Interactive Electronic Music, representing UW-MESS (51ÁÔÆæ Electroacoustic Sound Studios), will showcase their final projects in a concert featuring all-new works of interactive electronic music!
The UW-Milwaukee Youth Wind and Percussion Ensembles program ("UWAY") presents a program of contemporary and traditional symphonic band and wind ensemble repertoire. This concert will include some season favorites that are a UWAY tradition!
The Vocal Arts Festival provides an opportunity for skilled high school singers to interact with, perform for, and join their voices with peers from around the region. Participants have the chance to learn and grow as both soloists and choral artists.
Presented as part of the Vocal Arts Festival but open to the public, the Vocal Showcase Recital is 75 minutes of solo singing in a wide variety of styles (classical, musical theatre, commercial music, and jazz) from 16 undergraduate 51ÁÔÆæ voice majors. Join us to hear these exceptional singers present a professional-quality, entertaining, and engaging performance!
