  • Celebrating Tenor-Bass Choirs – A Joint Choral Concert

    51ΑΤΖζ's Kameraden tenor-bass choir is joined by Vox Ignis, the tenor-bass choir from Carthage College, for a joint choral performance. Join directors Zack Durlam (51ΑΤΖζ), Maggie Burk (Carthage) and singers from 51ΑΤΖζ and Carthage for a collaborative afternoon of choral music.

    in^set is a flexible chamber ensemble dedicated to creation, improvisation and experimentation. Founded in 2018 by David Aguila (trumpet), Teresa DΓ­az de Cossio (flute), and Ilana Waniuk (violin), in^set is committed to commissioning and performing existing compositions which extends their respective instrumental practices beyond the confines of contemporary classical music. Their collaborative creative work seeks to explore the sonic and visual possibilities of everyday objects, digital and analog visual components and hacked electronics. As advocates for music of the present, they aim to foster artistic partnerships and alternative modes of concert presentation. Their activities include outreach workshops and performances geared towards sharing their passion for expanded methods of sound production.

    This exciting night of music will feature music from Guatemala and Trinidad and Tobago performed by 51ΑΤΖζ students and Milwaukee community members. The 51ΑΤΖζ Steel PANthers Steel Band and the Community World Music Ensemble will join forces on a program highlighting traditional and arranged music played on Guatemalan marimba doble and Trinidadian steel pans.

  • Sing Out! Tenor-Bass Festival

    SingΒ OutΒ brings together 750+ 9th-12th grade and 350+ 7th-8th grade tenor-bassΒ singers from over 60 schools from around Wisconsin and Illinois. No advance preparation is required; students learn pieces at the festival and conclude the morning with the high school and middle school choirsΒ singing for one another and together. Additional activities include performances by the 51ΑΤΖζ Tenor-Bass Choir and interest and reading sessions for directors.
