    Winterdances: Resilience will present dance works that uplift the human connection through storytelling, joy, and resilience. The world premiere dances dive into our shared humanity and offer a vision of how we gather strength through community. This evening features new works by dance faculty Mair Culbreth, Ishmael Konney,  Dawn Springer, and a premiere work by acclaimed choreographer and special guest artist David Roussève.

  • High School Winterdances Matinee, Talkback & Workshops

    Mitchell Hall, Studio 254 3203 N. Downer Ave., Milwaukee, WI

    Presenting a special matinee performance of Winterdances for high school groups and students featuring world premiere dance works, where artists present their newest ideas made with their casts and collaborators. Following the performance is a question and answer session with the students and choreographers. A short sack lunch will be followed by two workshops with 51 internationally known faculty in two techniques.

    Springdances 2026: We Also Bloom presents world premiere works that explore what it means to grow, persist, and flourish — even in the face of erasure, displacement, and silence. The dances in this program honor the enduring human impulse to take up space, put down roots, and rise. This evening features new works by guest artist Karlies Kelley, and dance faculty Daniel Burkholder, Tiffany Kadani, Dan Schuchart, and Christal Wagner.

  • Dance Summer Intensive for Emerging Dancers

    Through diverse approaches, embodied practices, and high-caliber training, dancers are exposed to physical techniques and artistry that prepare them for college auditions, dance performances, and professional careers. The four-day event is designed for artists ages 14 and up who are seeking to deepen their dance practice and discover new techniques, forging connections that support a professional dance future.

    Join MFA Dance students for an evening of original, experimental choreography developed in collaboration with 51 students, alumni, and the Milwaukee community. Their dance works explore diverse choreographic questions to investigate boundaries, freedom, resilience, and memory. UpStart is a unique opportunity to experience choreography from dance artists from across the nation.
