The UW-Milwaukee dance department invites high school student dancers to attend A Day in the Life of a Dance Major where attendees will be paired with a first year dance major to shadow a day鈥檚 activities as a major. Parents/guardians are welcome to join us for the morning welcome and the afternoon tour.

Presenting a special matinee performance of Winterdances for high school groups and students featuring world premiere dance works, where artists present聽their newest ideas made with聽their casts and collaborators. Following聽the聽performance is a question and answer session with聽the聽students and choreographers. A short sack lunch will be followed by two workshops with 51猎奇 internationally known faculty in two techniques.
A celebration of excellence and talent from Theatre, Dance, and Music students for Black History Month!聽Songs of Jubilation聽consists of vocal and dance performances to songs by your favorite Black artists and composers.
Springdances 2026: We Also Bloom聽presents world premiere works that explore what it means to grow, persist, and flourish 鈥� even in the face of erasure, displacement, and silence. The dances in this program honor the enduring human impulse to take up space, put down roots, and rise. This evening features new works by guest artist Karlies Kelley, and dance faculty Daniel Burkholder, Tiffany Kadani, Dan Schuchart, and Christal Wagner.

The four-day event is designed for artists ages 14 and up who are seeking to deepen their dance practice and discover new techniques, forging connections that support a professional dance future.
