Need more help? Review the lists and the videos below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20 uwm-c-link--external\" href=\"https:\/\/uwm.mywconline.com\/saml\/login\" rel=\"\">Make an Appointment<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepare for Your Appointment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Plan ahead!<\/strong> Schedule early enough to revise before your due date and to get your preferred date and time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you cannot keep your appointment, please cancel online as a courtesy to other writers and Writing Center staff. Thank you!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For more help, call during open hours: 414-229-4339.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please do not email your paper ahead of time. Before we read along with you, we&#8217;ll want to hear about your assignment, your concerns, and your goals. We always work collaboratively in real time. Your voice and your choices are always part of our conversation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Due to our high demand and finite resources, writers are welcome to reserve <strong>up to two hours per week<\/strong>. Beyond that, further appointments are available within reason.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For pedagogical and practical reasons, writers may schedule no more than <strong>one visit per day <em>even if a tutor is available<\/em><\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Need accommodations?<\/strong> Please contact the Accessibility Resource Center <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/arc\/connect\/\">here<\/a><b>.<\/b>&nbsp; Also feel free to contact the Writing Center director Margaret Mika at mmika@uwm.edu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To log into the schedule, you will need your ePantherID and password. Click on any white square (available time), fill out the form, and click &#8216;create appointment&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Showing Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-be-on-time\">Be On Time<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please be prompt<\/strong>&nbsp;to benefit from all your reserved time and so we can stay on schedule. We wait up to five minutes or 10 minutes (for a 25- or 50-minute appointment, respectively), before marking the session a &#8216;no show.&#8217;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\" id=\"h-be-in-a-good-space\">Be in a Good Space<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">To have the most productive online session, plan to be in a safe, distraction-free place that is conducive to focused, one-on-one conversation. Tutors may suggest rescheduling a session if the writer is unable to effectively communicate (hear, speak, or text) with minimal interruption; they may not conduct a session with a writer who is at a safety risk, e.g., driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Don&#8217;t be a &#8220;No Show&#8221;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A &#8216;no-show&#8217; is when you <span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">miss or fail to cancel an appointment <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">in advance.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span> Two &#8216;no-shows&#8217; will automatically disable your online scheduling privileges for the rest of the semester.
