Feminist Lecture Series 2016
Author poet Norma E. Cant煤 presents Healing the Wound: Reflections of a Chicana Feminist from the Border, a lecture for the Women’s and Gender Studies Feminist Lecture Series.

About the Speaker
Dr. Norma E. Cant煤 is Professor Emerita, University of Texas, San Antonio and Professor of Latina/o Studies and English, University of Missouri-Kansas City. Her areas of research and teaching interest include border studies, Latina/Latino literature, Chicana/Chicano literature, cultural studies, contemporary literary theory, folklore, and feminist studies. Dr. Cant煤 received a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She received her M.S. degree and B.S. degree from Texas A&I University. In 2012, Dr. Cant煤 was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters, and she received the prestigious Nebrija Creative Writing Award from the Instituto Franklin at the Universidad de Alcala de Henares in Spain. Dr. Cant煤 is also a Fellow of the American Folklore Society. In 2007, she founded the Society for the Study of Gloria Anzald煤a.
