Stop Overdose"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A 90 minute training to learn how to recognize and respond to overdose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can contribute to a safe and caring campus by learning how to recognize and respond to signs of an overdose. Increase your knowledge, skills and confidence to take quick action when a person\u2019s life may depend on it. Discuss the natural human tendencies to do or say nothing in&nbsp;some&nbsp;potentially harmful situations and how to address them. Learn about naloxone (NARCAN), a safe medication that can reverse an opioid overdose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a0\">Participants will be able to:&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify signs of an alcohol or other drug overdose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify how to overcome barriers to helping someone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Describe 5 steps to appropriately respond to an overdose situation&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Learn how to give Narcan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Drug, Alcohol and Sexual Assault Victim Assistance Policy&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a1\">What to Expect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Trainings run&nbsp;90 minutes&nbsp;and include discussion, video, skills practice and problem-solving scenarios. Trainings are facilitated&nbsp;by&nbsp;Health Promotion &amp; Advocacy staff&nbsp;and&nbsp;trained 51ÁÔÆæ&nbsp;graduate students. Trainings are&nbsp;free and open to&nbsp;51ÁÔÆæ&nbsp;students.
