Simply bring your Panther ID to the Union Recreation Center, and staff will assist you. Campus student organizations hold tryouts each semester to form competitive teams that play weekly against others nationwide in popular esports titles. Additionally, campus groups can reserve computers and consoles for free group gaming sessions\u2014just review our guidelines and submit your reservation request. Whether you are a competitive player, casual gamer, or just looking for a cool hang-out spot, the Esports Lounge is the place to be!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First opening in 2024, the Esports Lounge boasts 45 high-powered Alienware PCs, 4 Nintendo Switches, 2 Xbox One Xs, and 2 PlayStation 5s. All PCs are equipped with Alienware keyboards, mice, and headsets, and have the most popular gaming titles downloaded and ready to play! In order to accomplish these goals, we require that participants follow these guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"size-p-lg\"><strong>Usage Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Users must be a current 51ÁÔÆæ student.<\/strong> No community members, guests, or alumni. Users must authenticate with a 51ÁÔÆæ sign-on unless otherwise specified.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Users are responsible for your own property &amp; damages.<\/strong> The university is not responsible for any loss of or damage to personal property or equipment. Users will be responsible for the repair or replacement of any damaged or broken equipment as the university deems fit. Items left in the Esports Lounge will be returned to the Information Desk at the end of the day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No food or beverage in the lounge.<\/strong> Bottles with caps or lids are allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Equipment must be appropriately used.<\/strong> The computers are to be used only for gaming. Gaming-adjacent programs (music, web-browsing, etc) must pertain to the activities of the Esports Lounge. For other computer needs, please see <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/technology\/ccls\/\">this list<\/a> of campus computer labs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Please check with staff before downloading additional games to the computers.<\/strong> If you would like to request a game or software to be added, please see Recreation Center staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal equipment usage is allowed<\/strong> &#8211; but please reset the PC when finished.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"size-p-lg\"><strong>Behavior Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Be welcoming and inclusive!<\/strong> All users must be welcoming and inclusive to all gamers of all identities, backgrounds, and skill levels. Users must abide by Wisconsin State Legislature\u2019s policies for conduct on University land, UWS 18. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No abusive language or behavior<\/strong> This includes but is not limited to yelling, swearing, threats, gender or racial discrimination, bullying, harassment, and intimidation will not be tolerated in the space. Violations of this policy will be reported to the Dean of Students and\/or the Office of Equal Opportunity &amp; Civil Rights as appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No gambling or betting.<\/strong> This includes &#8220;friendly&#8221; gambling of any kind.
