This course is self-paced, and you can expect to complete the orientation modules within 1-2 hours. These modules cover:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Academic advising<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Course enrollment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Resources to support your success<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Campus technology<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student life<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Orientation Requirement Hold will be removed from your PAWS account after completing these modules.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Ensure you&#8217;ve completed your admitted student checklist<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Access your PAWS account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set-up multi-factor authentication<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access your 51ÁÔÆæ email<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check your transfer credit evaluation &amp; make an appointment with your academic advisor<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitor PAWS for your enrollment appointment to you can enroll in courses as soon as possible<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit your ID photo<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete your University Terms and Conditions Agreement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete course placement requirements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Send in your transcripts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--wrap uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/undergrad-admission\/admitted-students\/new-transfer\/\" rel=\"\">Transfer Admitted Student Checklist<\/a>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Enroll in courses<\/h2>\n<p>To enroll in courses at 51ÁÔÆæ, you&#8217;ll need to ensure the following three things are complete:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete the orientation modules in your Orientation and Transition course<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Orientation Requirement Hold is removed from your PAWS account<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The date and time is on or after your <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/registrar\/students\/enrolling\/before-you-enroll\/enrollment-appointments\/\">enrollment appointment<\/a> listed in PAWS\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you do not have an enrollment appointment listed, you may begin enrolling in courses after Open Enrollment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>It is also strongly encouraged to make an academic advising appointment by logging into <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.guide.eab.com\/\">Navigate360<\/a> to ensure you are enrolling in appropriate courses that support timely graduation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Attend the on-campus Next Steps program<\/h2>\n<p>On July 17,&nbsp;transfer students&nbsp;are welcome to campus to&nbsp;complete&nbsp;admitted&nbsp;next steps and get your questions answered! At this program, you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience life as a 51ÁÔÆæ Panther.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Address any questions and concerns so you can feel confident in your decision to attend 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect with campus resources and advisors to prepare for your success as a 51ÁÔÆæ student.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And so much more!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to your <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/admissionsportal\">51ÁÔÆæ Admissions Portal<\/a> to register for the Transfer Next Steps Program. Students and guests can expect to be on campus for the afternoon from 1-3:30 p.m.  Look for a confirmation email after registering. An email with more details will be sent closer to the program.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If desired, overnight accommodations can be made through <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/housing\/conferences-events\/guest-housing\/\">51ÁÔÆæ Guest Housing<\/a> or at any of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitmilwaukee.org\/about-milwaukee\/college-town\/uwm\/\">Milwaukee\u2019s local hotels<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Complete Panther Transition Training modules<\/h2>\n<p class=\"default\">After completing orientation modules, you&#8217;ll see Panther Transition Training appear in your PAWS To-Do List. Panther Transition Training modules are located within the Orientation and Transition Canvas course. Please allow up to 2 business days for your Panther Transition Training to-do list item to be marked complete in PAWS.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Attend your Panther Transition Experience<\/h2>\n<p>Before the first day of classes, you\u2019ll round out your orientation and transition process by participating in Panther Transition Experience on September 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the day, you will be welcomed to campus by participating in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An academic welcome with your&nbsp;school or college&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Our annual class photo tradition&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A transfer &amp; adult specific Panther Transition Experience program to explore campus and meet peers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Keep&nbsp;an eye on your email for more details about your Panther Transition Experience,&nbsp;class photo, and academic welcome as we get&nbsp;closer to the start of the semester!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"content_block\" id=\"custom_post_widget-7267\">\n<div class=\"uwm-p-notice uwm-p-notice--info\"><i class=\"fa-solid fa-circle-info fa-fw\"><\/i><div class=\"uwm-p-notice--content\"><div class=\"uwm-p-notice--title\">New Student Fee<\/div><div class=\"uwm-p-notice--message\">All students are charged a nonrefundable $250 fee upon completion of orientation which covers the cost of orientation materials, the student&#8217;s PantherCard, and operating costs of Orientation and Panther Transition Experience programs.\u00a0The $250 fee will be posted to students&#8217; PAWS account upon completion of orientation and is due on the first day of the semester, even if the student does not ultimately enroll in courses.
