Review your essential next steps.<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"uwm-c-list--sequence\">\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2><strong>Check Your Accounts \u2014 Often!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Monitor <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/paws\">PAWS<\/a> for your enrollment appointment time, which is when you can register for classes. Class schedules post one week before the enrollment period begins.&nbsp;Once&nbsp;open&nbsp;enrollment begins, we do not assign appointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For courses during&nbsp;UWinteriM, our winter break academic session, check PAWS in mid-October.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For spring, check in mid-November.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For summer, check in late March.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For fall, check in mid-April.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Check PAWS for holds and items on your to-do list. Before you register for classes, address any outstanding issues. Most students need to complete the University Terms and Conditions Agreement&nbsp;hold&nbsp;under the&nbsp;finances&nbsp;section before registering on PAWS. The non-resident tuition hold does not prevent registration.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Register for Classes<\/h2>\n<p>Register for classes on <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/paws\">PAWS<\/a>. Go to<a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.uwm.edu\/course-search\/\"> uwm.edu\/schedule<\/a> to see which classes are offered each semester. Use the advanced search function to find online or evening classes. To register for classes, click on \u201cenroll\u201d under the&nbsp;academics&nbsp;section. If your class has prerequisites, you may need to contact the department or professor for permission. If a class is closed or you do not get added from the waitlist, you may be able to ask the professor to add you to the class on the first day. Please bring a <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/registrar\/forms-tools\/#h-student-forms\">registration change form<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Planning to take online&nbsp;courses?&nbsp;Explore <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/canvas\/home\">Canvas<\/a>, 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s web-based learning environment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>View the required books for your class at <a href=\"http:\/\/panthershopuwm.com\">panthershopuwm.com<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Submit Your ID Photo<\/h2>\n<p>All 51ÁÔÆæ students are required to have a\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/retailservices\/use-your-selfie\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">photo identification card.<\/a>\u202fDownload the Get Mobile App to upload your photo or\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/retailservices\/use-your-selfie\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">directly upload a selfie to the Panther Card Office<\/a>. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Log into Your 51ÁÔÆæ Email<\/h2>\n<p>Access your 51ÁÔÆæ email through Microsoft Outlook by going to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/o365\">uwm.edu\/o365<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><div class=\"uwm-c-list--content-wrap\"><h2>Learn About Campus Parking and Transportation <\/h2>\n<p>Learn about campus parking and transportation options at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/parking\">uwm.edu\/parking<\/a>. The following services also make commuting easy:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>FREE UPARK: Park at our satellite parking lot at Capitol Drive and Humboldt&nbsp;Avenue, and&nbsp;hop on the UPARK bus that drops you off at one of six campus locations. Buses pick up and drop off about every 10 minutes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>FREE U-PASS: Stop in at 51ÁÔÆæ Parking and Transit, located in the Union, Room WG25, one week before school starts. 51ÁÔÆæ students get a bus pass for unlimited free rides on Milwaukee\u2019s bus system. You can also use your U-PASS at many park-and-ride locations. Online students are not eligible.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>B.O.S.S.: You can call the B.O.S.S. (Be&nbsp;On&nbsp;the Safe Side) transportation service to escort you home after hours if you live within a few miles of campus.
