Suicide Prevention Awareness Day
In recognition of September being Suicide Prevention Month, join the 51ΑΤΖζ community on September 25th for Suicide Prevention Awareness Day. This day is a time to spread hope, raise awareness, show support, and share vital information for those affected by suicide. Our goal is to ensure that everyone has access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.Β

Flourish your pens and cast a story about the wizarding world in this writing workshop! We will be discussing well known magical worlds like Harry Potter, The Hobbit, and more. Bring your creativity, magical wonder, a writing utensil and we will provide the notebooks!Β
Lyrical Sanctuary Featuring Carmen Alicia Murguia
Carmen Alicia MurguΓa is a proud U.S.-born poet and writer whose work explores love, Latinidad, politics, queer identity, and culture. Sheβs the author of six poetry collections and has been featured in academic journals, anthologies, and interviews on NPR, PBS, and other media outlets. Carmen began her poetry journey at The Loft Literary Center through the Inroads: Emerging Chicano/Latino Writerβs Mentorship Program and has since performed at festivals and venues across the country, including New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, and San Antonio.Β

Ofrendas, or βofferings,β are decorated altars filled with photos, candles, and mementos to celebrate those who have passed. Create your own mini ofrenda and type a letter to someone you hold dear using a manual typewriter.Β
