(RNS) \u2014 As public health officials grapple with the\u00a0slowing rate of COVID-19 vaccinations in the U.S.<\/a>, two groups of Americans stand out as being particularly resistant to rolling up their sleeves for the shots: Republicans and white evangelicals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In mid-April, about 20% of white evangelicals said they would \u201cdefinitely not\u201d get the shot, compared with 13% of all Americans, according to a\u00a0Kaiser Family Foundation<\/a>\u00a0survey. About 20% of Republican respondents said the same.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
