Through the 51ÁÔÆæ Foundation and the generosity and vision of friends, alumni and faculty, the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare has established scholarships for the benefit of its students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-undergraduate-students\">Undergraduate Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Undergraduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (including transfer credits).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All students who have applied and been accepted into 51ÁÔÆæ, and are in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, are welcome to apply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Most (but not all) scholarships through the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare are offered based on financial need. To be considered for need-based scholarships, you must have a <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/finances\/finances\/receiving-financial-aid\/fafsa\/\">Free Application for Federal Student Aid<\/a> (FAFSA) on file for the 2026-2027 academic year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Students who are not eligible to complete a FAFSA may contact scholarship coordinator Michaela Kaiser at <a href=\"mailto:kaisermr@uwm.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">kaisermr@uwm.edu<\/a> to talk about alternative options.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additionally, the school offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/socialwelfare\/criminal-justice-practitioner-scholarship\/\">criminal justice practitioner scholarship<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scholarship committee, which includes faculty and staff from HBSSW, bases its decision on the strength of your academic career, the information listed in the job or volunteer experiences, and any unique or unusual circumstances in relation to the scholarship eligibility requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-u-flex uwm-u-flex--left\">\n<a class=\"uwm-c-button uwm-c-button--icon-right uwm-c-button--icon-arrow uwm-u-mr-20 uwm-u-mb-20\" href=\"https:\/\/uwm.academicworks.com\/\" rel=\"\">Undergraduate Student Scholarships<\/a>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-graduate-students\">Graduate Students<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to scholarships listed on the 51ÁÔÆæ scholarship page, graduate students are eligible for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Advanced Opportunity Program Fellowships, Distinguished Graduate Student Fellowships and Graduate Student Travel Awards. Department of Social Work also offers additional <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/socialwelfare\/academics\/social-work-msw\/funding-opportunities-for-msw-students\/\">funding opportunities for MSW students<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Child and Family Scholars Program provides <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/socialwelfare\/academics\/social-welfare-phd\/child-and-family-scholars-program\/\">funding
