Approval of Minutes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The minutes of the November 11, 2025 meeting were approved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Guest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

               ASC Chair Jennifer Herriges<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. The ASC provided comments on the Teaching Workload Policy.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. The ASC decided that AS with Faculty Status can still serve on Academic Staff Committees.\u00a0 They also requested an instructional academic staff position on the APCC, and the APCC voted to add two instructional academic staff positions to their membership.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. The ASC is working on updating their policies on annual reviews to match the change from reviews being conducted on a calendar-year basis to a fiscal-year basis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The ASC continues to push for pay progression policies for AS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. The ASC surveyed AS on their views on indefinite status, and found that the majority of AS view indefinite status positively and would like to see the opportunities for indefinite status increase.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. M. Kavanaugh reported that Derek Counts will be serving on the Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications Search & Screen Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Members\u2019 Reports<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. G. Rodger reported that the APBC discussed the CASL proposal, and heard reports on the Divisional budget meetings.\u00a0 Additionally, the Rules Committee met to set the agenda for the December 11 Faculty Senate meeting. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Personnel Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        Per Wis. Stats 19.85(1)(f), it was moved and seconded to go into closed session to discuss personnel matters. Upon voice vote, closed session began at 1:35 p.m. The committee reconvened in open session at 2:22 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Future Agenda Items<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        The next scheduled UC meeting is December 2 at 1:00 pm.  Provost Daire is scheduled to attend.  There will be also consideration of changes to Chapter 1 of P&P at the December 9 meeting.  It is also planned to meet December 16, but not on December 23 or 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
