Approval of Minutes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Approval of the minutes of October 28, 2025 meeting was deferred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special Guests<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                Jennifer Danzy Cramer, Department of Human Resources<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Dr. Cramer sought input on what types of professional development activities and trainings might be of interest to faculty.\u00a0 Topics that were suggested by the UC included training on management \/ administrative roles, supervision and mentoring of graduate students, and training on governance activities.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Chairperson\u2019s Report and Announcements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. M. Kavanaugh has heard from a faculty member expressing concern over the new course scheduling regulations, and the process used in developing the regulations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. M. Kavanaugh discussed several items with Chancellor Gibson.\u00a0 (a) The multi-cultural student centers will be more focused on academic efforts than social activities.\u00a0 (b) Presently, the H-1B visa situation is not affecting 51ÁÔÆæ while it proceeds through the courts.\u00a0 But if the cost is allowed to stand, 51ÁÔÆæ will be severely impacted in our ability to hire new international faculty.\u00a0 (c) In the current draft of the System workload policy, one can be completely bought out of teaching responsibilities if the faculty is able to provide 100% of their salary through external funding.\u00a0 (d) Work is being done on the financial situation in the Zilber College of Public Health.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. K. Kirshtner reported that the PAC met and recommended the approval of the Research Misconduct Policy (SAAP 14-5).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        1. Reorganization Committee Membership<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          The UC will be represented by L. McHenry on the reorganization committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. GER Statement<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            M. Kavanaugh will update the GER statement and send it to the Rules Committee to place the Faculty Senate agenda for their consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
