Examples of university service recognized include committee service, curriculum development, mentoring and sustained service contributions. Service includes all professional activities that contribute to the public good, enhance 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s reputation, and carry out the university\u2019s mission. Examples of public service recognized include public lectures; media appearances and presentations; conducting or coordinating applied research, education, or planning; consulting, evaluating, and advising; serving as a resource to others and work on decision-making panels and boards. Nominations for Awards may be submitted by the nominee, students, faculty, academic staff, and departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-eligible-nominees-must\">Eligible Nominees Must:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor at 51ÁÔÆæ*<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Teach an undergraduate course in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">either<\/span> Fall or Spring semesters, 2025-2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have worked at 51ÁÔÆæ full time for at least three academic years<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To be eligible to receive the monetary award and to be recognized at the award ceremony, award recipients must remain employed through the end of the calendar year of the ceremony. Exceptions may be made for employees who have retired before the end of the calendar year.<br><br>*51ÁÔÆæ includes: UW-Milwaukee and 51ÁÔÆæ at Waukesha<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-to-nominate-someone-for-the-award\">To Nominate Someone for the Award:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submit ONE (1) electronic copy of the following:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One nomination letter, no longer than three pages, describing why the nominee merits the award (e.g., command of subject, classroom organization, teaching innovations, stimulation of learning, awareness of student needs).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Nominee\u2019s CV<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Summary of student evaluations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Undergraduate course teaching schedule for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the nomination, the Awards and Recognitions Committee may request additional material from the candidate, meet with the candidate, and\/or attend (physically or virtually) at least one of the nominee\u2019s classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Submit nominations to:<\/strong> Office of the Secretary of the University, <a href=\"mailto:secofunv@uwm.edu\">secofunv@uwm.edu<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* The stipend is contingent on budgetary constraints; we cannot guarantee a cash award in 2026.
