EMDR Therapy Basic Training Certificate

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a comprehensive psychotherapy that accelerates the treatment of many different pathologies and trauma related to disturbing events and present life conditions. This two-part experiential training is approved by The EMDR International Association () and includes 20 hours of lecture, 20 hours of supervised practice and 10 hours of consultations.

Complemented by an empirically tested method, EMDR therapy is compatible with all contemporary clinical paradigms including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, experimental and systemic approaches. In this program, you work with our EMDRIA-approved instructor, Wendy Freitag, to earn your EMDR Therapy Basic Training Certificate.

At the time of enrollment, participants must fill out the Participant’s Agreement, and unlicensed participants must fill out the Clinical Supervisor Agreement.

Courses

To get started, enroll in the EMDR Therapy Basic Training. Earn the certificate by completing both parts of the training and participating in group consultation work.

I have been in the therapeutic field since 2013, using traditional modalities of treatment that so many of us have learned over the years, but working with a caseload of people so impacted with issues of complex trauma had me feeling like I was running into ‘brick walls’ in the work that I was doing with them. When I could, I would frequently refer out to other providers trained in EMDR and then one day, it finally clicked … instead of referring, how about I learn how to do it? EMDR has already been a game changer in the work that I do with my clients, so much so that even if I am working with a client that I am not doing EMDR with, it has impacted the therapeutic relationship in a positive and new way. Dr. Wendy Frietag is an excellent trainer. Her expertise, patience and precision is like a second language to her. She makes learning this technique as easy as possible and has consistently been available for any questions or concerns that have come up in this journey.
