In addition to overseeing research involving recombinant DNA or synthetic nucleic acids, the IBC reviews\u00a0the use of the following:<\/p>\n<div id=\"post-2954\" class=\"post-2954 tribe_events type-tribe_events status-publish hentry tribe_events_cat-institutional-biosafety-committee cat_institutional-biosafety-committee\">\n<div class=\"tribe-events-single-event-description tribe-events-content\">\n<ul>\n<li>Use of any biological agent of a risk group 2 or higher level<\/li>\n<li>Select agents and toxins<\/li>\n<li>Dual Use Research of Concern (DURC)<\/li>\n<li>Stem cell research<\/li>\n<li>Nanotechnology involving biological agents.<\/li>\n<li>Human cells\/ tissues.<\/li>\n<li>Teaching activities that involve any of these materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ALL PROTOCOLS ARE REQUIRED TO BE SUBMITTED 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE IBC MEETING BY THE PI FOR AMPLE TIME FOR PRE-REVIEW AND DISCUSSION.
