Since the time we announced the untimely passing of Zilber School of Public Health Dean Ron Perez<\/a>, our long-term friend and colleague, many of you have reached out to ask what you might do to honor his memory. Ron\u2019s widow, Christine, has asked that we establish the Ron Perez Legacy Fund<\/a> at the 51ÁÔÆæ Foundation. The fund will support underrepresented students at the Joseph J. Zilber School of Public Health and will memorialize Ron\u2019s dedication and extraordinary service to 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his three decades at 51ÁÔÆæ, Ron tirelessly and fiercely advocated for our students. He administered scholarships, attempting to find funding for all students who needed support. He personally encouraged his students to pursue their dreams. The Ron Perez Legacy Fund<\/a> will be a lasting tribute to him and his accomplishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thank you for the outpouring of sympathy upon Ron\u2019s passing, as well as the shared memories of the light and hope he brought to all who knew him. He will be missed, and his legacy will live on through our students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
