The Zilber College of Public Health uses a faculty-driven advising model, with both the students and faculty supported by program directors and our Office of Academic and Student Affairs. Students will be assigned a faculty advisor at the time of admission or orientation, depending on their program.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On-boarding for your first semester is critical to your success. We are here to help you navigate your transition to your graduate program, help keep you on track to completion, and connect you with the myriad of resources available to our students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m a new graduate student. How do I start?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each program and concentration have \u201cAcademic Maps\u201d which serve as your semester-by-semester guide. The Map ensures courses are completed when offered and course selection meets mid- and end-program prerequisites. Documents are sent soon after admission. Of course, we\u2019re here for questions. As you progress, you will meet with your faculty academic advisor prior to each semester, to discuss your plan of study. The faculty advisor will be assigned to you at your Orientation before the semester begins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make an appointment<\/em><\/strong>\u202f with your advisor by contacting them directly, via Teams or e-mail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When should I meet with my advisor?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor at least once per semester to ensure timely progress to graduation. Our staff will hold regular information sessions prior to Advising time on tips to make the most of your time with your faculty advisor. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enrolling for spring semester? Schedule an appointment with your advisor in October or November. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enrolling for fall semester? Schedule an appointment with your advisor in March or April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students are also welcome to schedule an appointment with their advisor at any time to discuss academic challenges, career opportunities, or any other questions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
