Mutual aid initiatives are an effective strategy that build mobilization\, create community\, and meet people’s immediate health care needs. A defining characteristic of mutual aid is the awareness that the systems and structures in place\, such as the health care system\, are unable to meet these needs and have often created additional needs. Come to learn about mutual aid and our community-based participatory research study that has evaluated the impact of mutual aid on gender-affirming health care for transgender\, nonbinary\, and gender diverse people. \nJoin us in a forum to hear the latest in the research and practice of public health to support a just\, equitable\, healthy future for people\, communities\, and the environment in Milwaukee\, the state of Wisconsin\, and beyond. \nThe seminar can also be attended virtually on Teams.
