Often\, we see ourselves or people we care about represented in those data sets\, sometimes from exceptionally challenging periods of illness or frustration navigating health care systems. \nThe human elements of health data require that we handle data with care\, taking into consideration: \n\nWho is represented in the data?\nWho is the messenger sharing the data?\nHow data may be (mis)understood and influence health behaviors?\n\nAbout the speaker: \nAmanda Makulec is a data visualization leader on a mission to help people make data meaningful. Over the past 15 years\, she’s worked in more than a dozen countries coaching teams\, designing data visualizations\, and building communities focused on communicating data effectively with an emphasis on health data visualization. \nAmanda is a founding board member and former Executive Director for the global Data Visualization Society\, author of Dashboards That Deliver\, and co-host of Chart Chat.
