Experimenter Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Getting a Research or Principal Investigator Account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Each lab will have a single Principal Investigator account (under a faculty member\u2019s epanther ID) plus Researcher accounts for each lab member. Faculty members can request a Principal Investigator account, and pre-approved lab members may request new Researcher accounts by contacting the administrator research-participation@uwm.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important Sona Policies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. It is the Principal Investigator\u2019s responsibility to ensure all procedures are approved as needed by the IRB<\/a>. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Time value assignments should be determined in 30 min increments. A study that requires a participation time of 30 min or less should award \u00bd credit hour, participation times of 31-60 min should result in 1 credit hour, etc. Multi-session studies may include a \u201cbonus\u201d for completing all sessions: Participants can receive an additional \u00bd credit hour per each two sessions of repeat participation. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Please award credit within 24 hours of the student\u2019s participation \u2013 for multiple session studies this can be after the final session of the study. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Sona users complete a brief survey the first time they log in each semester. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Help using Sona<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Resources for creating studies, adding timeslots, assigning credit, and other common Sona functions can be found in Researcher Help<\/a>. If you have looked through the help and still have question, contact the Sona administrator research-participation@uwm.edu<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Using External Survey Tools with Sona<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    If you would like to use the Qualtrics Survey Tool to create a brief pre-screen that will automatically determine and inform participants of their study eligibility please read this\u202fPDF Document\u202fQualtrics Automatic Scoring and Emailing (PDF)<\/a>\u202ftutorial.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you are conducting an online survey or experiment it is highly recommended that you automatically award Sona credit upon study completion. Follow Sona\u2019s guide<\/a> to integrating external tools in your Sona study.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
