It reviews University and college plans, consults on budget models, evaluates new program proposals, and represents faculty interests in planning and policy decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Membership. <\/strong>The committee is composed of the following members:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One faculty appointed by the University Committee from each Division including at least one of whom shall be a senator;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one member of the University Committee appointed annually;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one Faculty elected by the Faculty of each Division;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Chair of the Academic Program &amp; Curriculum Committee or designee;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Chair of the Graduate Faculty Committee or designee;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>three members of the Academic Staff:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>two elected by the Academic Staff;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one member of the Academic Staff Committee appointed annually;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>one University Staff member appointed annually by the University Staff Committee;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two ex-officio and non-voting members, as follows:\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>One Dean appointed annually on a rotating basis by the Chancellor;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Provost or designee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Functions.<\/strong> Makes recommendations to the Faculty and to 51ÁÔÆæ Administration regarding (1) short range and long range academic plans for the University that are consistent with the mission, and (2) budget implications for these plans.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reviews long range plans regarding academic interests that are consistent with the mission of the colleges and the University;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consults with administration of the University and of the colleges over the budget model allocations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advises Faculty on issues related to budget and its impact on academic program quality, student retention, and development;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reports to the Faculty Senate regarding both short and long range academic plans for the University that are consistent with the University mission and budgetary implications of those plans;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recommends and evaluates planning for new programs that are not the province of a single academic unit;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Represents the interests of the Faculty to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor and Provost regarding both short range and long range plans for the academic units and the budget implications of these plans;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Examines those actions taken by the Board of Regents, 51ÁÔÆæ Administration, or individual units on campus that impact the overall short range or long range plans for other academic programs on campus and the budget for the academic units;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Makes recommendations for Faculty action;\n<ol style=\"list-style-type:lower-roman\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reviews University policies that impact the academic programs of the academic units and long range plans for these units;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col uwm-l-col--4 uwm-l-offset--1\"><div
