{"id":1761,"date":"2026-01-23T16:16:40","date_gmt":"2026-01-23T22:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/policy\/?post_type=library&#038;p=1761"},"modified":"2026-03-12T09:50:15","modified_gmt":"2026-03-12T14:50:15","slug":"departmental-faculty-functions","status":"publish","type":"library","link":"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/policy\/library\/the-department\/departmental-faculty-functions\/","title":{"rendered":"4.03 &#8211; Departmental Faculty: Functions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"uwm-l-row\">\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<p>The immediate government of the department is vested in its departmental Faculty (as defined in <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/policy\/library\/the-department\/departmental-faculty-membership\/\">4.02<\/a>), which has jurisdiction over all the interests of the department, with authority to determine all departmental questions of educational and administrative policy, other than those matters which are vested in the Executive Committee by <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/policy\/library\/the-department\/departmental-executive-committee-functions\/\">4.05<\/a>. The Faculty of the department shall be responsible for teaching, research, and public service and shall carry out academic planning processes on a regular basis, including, but not limited to the preparation of the academic program plans for the department.
