The Department of Philosophy offers a small number of scholarships and awards to philosophy students each year. In addition, the College of Letters & Science offers multiple scholarships for majors within the College, which includes philosophy majors. Most application deadlines are in spring (March & April) for the following school year (i.e. apply in March 2026 for scholarships paid beginning in September 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n
The scholarship process for all undergraduates and all scholarships \r\n(both major specific ones and all general scholarships) begins with \r\n\r\n 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s Panther Scholarship Portal<\/a>. Graduate students can also \r\n follow this process, though most of the available scholarship \r\n funding is for undergraduates. See the graduate \r\n student funding page<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\r\n The Panther Scholarship Portal can also be used to find \r\n\r\n non-51ÁÔÆæ (private) scholarships<\/a> that have registered with 51ÁÔÆæ. \r\n These may be scholarships sponsored by local or national organizations, \r\n fraternal clubs or other companies outside of 51ÁÔÆæ.<\/p>\r\n Students are responsible for reading and understanding \r\n 51ÁÔÆæ\u2019s policies regarding scholarship applications<\/a>. \r\n Please pay particular attention to the section on the use of AI (such as Chat GPT).<\/p>\r\nHow and when to apply:<\/h2>\r\n
