The word \u201cphilosophy\u201d means \u201cthe love of wisdom\u201d and that\u2019s what our students will learn here at 51ÁÔÆæ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students who have a natural curiosity about the world, who love to chew on tough questions and engage in lively debate, should consider a philosophy major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To study philosophy is to see the connections between ideas. It examines the real world, its complex social and material nature, and our place in it. Philosophical fields of studies are diverse, ranging from theoretical to practical to logic and history. Whatever aspect of philosophy you choose to study, you\u2019ll learn not only what great thinkers have concluded about the world, but how to draw your own conclusions using reasoning and analytical thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A philosophy major provides an excellent starting point for students who are interested in careers in law, nonprofit work, public policy, health care, social work, and many more avenues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
