Demond currently serves in the role of senior advisor within the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Student Support Services program.  As a first-generation college graduate, Demond finds it gratifying to work with this population of students in his current capacity and enjoys working with all students. Demond is a person-centered advisor, who likes to get to know students as individual people first before focusing on their experience at 51. Demond helps students to see the connections between their academic experience and future life plans. Demond is a resource agent for students and one of his ultimate goals is to assist students in the development of their interests, aptitudes, and values on their journey to graduation.

In her academic advisor position with Pathway Advising, Sarah enjoys assisting students with academic and career exploration. Sarah encourages her students to share their experiences, interests, and questions so that she can assist them with setting academic, career, and life goals. As a former 51 student and a current staff member, Sarah uses her personal and professional experience to support student success. In the past, Sarah served as an assistant director of the 51 Military and Veterans Resource Center, and as a graduate student extern in the 51 Career Planning and Resource Center.
