World Report<\/em> consistently ranks the School of Nursing at 51ÁÔÆæ among the top nursing schools with graduate programs because our students play such an active role in research and clinical practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"tab-up8x-certificates\" class=\"uwm-p-tabcontent--pane\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/nursing\/academics\/global-health-certificate\" class=\"uwm-c-link--arrow\"><strong>Global Health Certificate<\/strong><\/a><br>Paired with a related major, the Global Health Certificate prepares students to work in changing environments and with more diverse populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/nursing\/academics\/peace-studies-and-conflict-resolution\/\" class=\"uwm-c-link--arrow\"><strong>Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution<\/strong><\/a><br>Building peace in our community, nation, and the world will depend on our ability to work well together to solve problems and pursue opportunities. Opportunities for studying abroad are available to a wide range of destinations and for lengths of time ranging from a couple of weeks to a full academic year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In short-term programs to countries including Malawi, Kenya, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador, students learn about the health care systems, practices, and beliefs of their host countries. <a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/cie\/study-abroad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">51ÁÔÆæ Center for International Education administers<\/a> the study abroad programs. Dr. Santacruz Salas is a professor of nursing at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, in Toledo, Spain. Professor Santacruz Salas is interested in maternal\/child health, with a focus on breastfeeding. While at the 51ÁÔÆæ School of Nursing, she is meeting with researchers and community partners with similar interests to develop research collaborations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"uwm-l-col\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading heading-separator-short\" id=\"h-global-health-scholars\">Global Health Scholars<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Global Health Scholars is a learning community and free certificate programs comprised of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students from campus throughout Milwaukee who convene around a shared interest in topics of local and global health equity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The group engages in activities based on the following themes: Interdisciplinary learning and team-based skills; Ethical global health practice; Health equity; Leadership and project management; Networking opportunities.
